kyleandClaude Opus 5.5 484804c00a bxctl: chat_approvals' helper accepts a broken pipe on stdin
json_prints_only_json_and_never_asks_brokerd failed once under load: the helper wrote the typed
input to a `bxctl chat --json` that never reads stdin and had already exited, and unwrapped the
broken pipe. A broken pipe on that write is now accepted; any other error still fails the test,
and a test whose input must be read checks the output.

kyleandClaude Opus 5.5 1fda5bfdb9 bxcore, bxctl: drop the skeletons' instruction comments; usage indent
M5b review, findings 3 and 4: the instruction comments tasks 03 and 04
left inside filled bodies, and a space of indent task 11 added to four
lines of bxctl's usage text. No behaviour changes.

kyleandClaude Opus 5.5 2b3ae080b4 proto becomes bxcore, the one shared crate (M5b task 00)
Done the way the owner asked and the spike mapped: the crate and the
manifests renamed, then what the build reported fixed. Layers: 138
"proto unresolved" errors across 169 files; cargo fmt reordering
imports; six fixture paths built as strings in brokerd's and bxctl's
tests, which the compiler cannot see, and comments naming
crates/proto/; the crate-dependency check and its self-test. One more
the spike did not reach: a `\nproto =` key inside a printf format in
the self-test, which a word-boundary replacement skips because `n` and
`p` are both word characters.

make gate: gate: ok, 944 tests; no new entry in /tmp.

kyleandClaude Opus 5.5 a15c428ea6 tests: every temporary path is removed by a guard; no leftovers in /tmp
About 10,000 test leftovers had built up in titan's /tmp. loopd's Home
and FakeServer, its fake broker's socket, bxctl's temp sockets, fake
loopd and command homes, inferproxy's socket, and a few brokerd and
toolkit tests created uniquely named directories or sockets and never
removed them, or removed them by hand at the end, which a failing test
skips. Each is now a guard removed on drop (bxctl gains
tests/support/temp.rs). Two races also left gatewayd homes behind: the
test Running only signalled its server to stop, and two Stage structs
declared the home first, so it was removed while the server could still
write into it. Running's drop now waits for the thread (with a 5-second
limit), and every home is declared last.

Checked: make gate twice, then the gate and three rounds of gatewayd and
loopd tests; no new entry in /tmp; 944 tests pass.

kyleandClaude Opus 5.5 fc8befaf5b bxctl audit verify: name the log-like files it did not check
A .jsonl file whose name is not a date is ignored by brokerd and by verify;
it is now listed, so "ok" does not seem to cover it.

kyleandClaude Opus 5.5 bb4d7c0919 bxctl: escape frame errors; say the outcome is unknown after a timeout
From the independent review of task 23. serde quotes a bad frame's text after
decoding, so a compromised peer could put escape sequences in it. A timed-out
admin request now says whether brokerd acted is unknown, since it may have.

kyleandClaude Opus 5.5 a75a5453e9 bxctl: escape error details, time out on admin.sock, AdminError::Io
M3a review findings 9, 10, 12, 13. A retrying error and every error detail
can carry the inference server's body, so they are escaped like model text.
Admin requests wait at most 30 s, so a stuck brokerd cannot hang bxctl or a
chat turn. A failed write is AdminError::Io and stops handle_pending instead
of being answered with another write. The usage line says what audit verify
checks.

kyleandClaude Opus 5.5 33994d0dc6 loopd, bxctl, inferproxy: read args_os instead of panicking
M3a review finding 7, for the other three roles. loopd keeps its config path
as a path; bxctl and inferproxy take text arguments and answer one that is
not UTF-8 with their usage.

kyleandClaude Opus 5.5 eed0a221ca Audit writer: open a record-less log, share the log-name rule, keep the lock file
M3a review findings 1, 2, 4 and part of 5. One empty log file made brokerd
panic at startup (files[len - 2]); it now opens as an empty log. brokerd's
name check tested one month digit, so a file bxctl ignored could become
brokerd's latest file; both now use proto::is_audit_log_name. Writer no
longer unlinks audit/.lock, which opened a two-writer window. No unwrap in
short_check.
