The Computer Audio adapter is a cross-over adapter that connects the microphone pin of a computer's TRRS audio port to the speaker output of the HamShield, and vice versa. All you have to do to use it is assemble it and plug it in.

Assembly

Assembly of the adapter requires access to a soldering iron. Populate the components as follows:

  • R1 = 1.2 kOhms (brown, red, red, gold)
  • R2 = 10 kOhms (brown, black, orange, gold)
  • R3 = 1.2 kOhms (brown, red, red, gold)
  • C1 = 0.01 uFarads
  • C2 = 0.01 uFarads
  • JP1 = four pin male header
  • J1 = TRRS jack

You will also need to solder a four pin female header to JP3 on the HamShield (just to the side of the HamShield's audio jack).

When you plug the audio adapter in to the HamShield, the TRRS jack of the adapter should line up with the TRRS jack of the shield.
