Kyle Isom b1bbaebdac Slow working on bringing the old code up to standard. 
- Documentation updates - most of the old files use non-Doxygen or
  no/minimal header comments.
- Rework SimpleSuite to be more useful.
- Coverity-surfaced fixes.
